  • Area Notes

    A parking area is provided at the SW Outlet structure located at Southeast corner of Section 35 of Spruce Valley Township (unorganized) on 340th Street. Non-motorized access to the embankment is permitted year-round.  Spring migration hosts the largest variety of birds within the site. Migratory species frequent the site to rest and feed in the fall, as well.  Winter months Great Grey Owls and Sharp tail Grouse are found along the embankment and are easy to spot when there is sufficient snow cover.
