Detroit Lakes

Detroit Lakes is located in where three biomes uniquely converge along the Pine to Prairie International Birding Trail. Tall grass prairie, deciduous forests and conifer forests all merge, along with wetlands and prairie potholes, within the Detroit Lakes Minnesota area. These habitats offer more than 250 species of birds in Becker County, providing exceptional opportunities for the beginning to experienced birder.

Come celebrate the spring migration at the Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds in May with field trips, special presentations and socials. Visitors to Detroit Lakes have a variety of activities to participate in, from fishing, golfing, biking, swimming, tubing, scuba diving, wildlife watching, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, fat biking, snowboarding, snow tubing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, shopping, dining and live theater performances.
